The Independent Book Publishers Association (IBPA) has selected The History Makers, Val Bodurtha’s debut novel, as an official finalist for its 30th annual Benjamin Franklin Award. The novel has been named one of four finalists in the Teen Fiction (Ages 13-18) category.
With over 3,100 members, IBPA is considered the largest publishing association in the U.S. The IBPA issues the Benjamin Franklin Award to recognize excellence in independent book publishing. Now in its 30th year, the Benjamin Franklin award is regarded as one of the highest national honors for indie publishers and self-published authors. Winners in more than fifty categories are selected by 150 book publishing professionals including librarians, bookstore owners, reviewers, designers, publicity managers, and editors.
The winners of the Gold Benjamin Franklin Award will be announced on April 6, 2018 at the Sheraton Austin at the Capitol in Austin, Texas. Stay tuned to find out more!
